The lazy state of me.

Sum total of my accomplishments thus far today: breakfast, followed by folding laundry. I'm currently sitting here sipping a fresh cup of tea and wondering if I can get away with skipping the exercise bike today.

The answer: no effing way!!

It's a damn good thing I've got the bike right there in my living room, because if I had to drag my butt out of the house to the gym three or four times a week, I would've given up going long before now. Once I'm on the bike, I'm fine - I start pedaling, and the momentum carries me through to the end. The hard part is getting myself out of my nice, warm, comfy chair and into the living room.

But the fact that I'm sitting here yawning doesn't help. We went to bed early last night, which meant that I woke up around 2 AM and couldn't get back to sleep. So I grabbed my laptop and went out to the couch to futz around on the 'net for awhile, then watched Stewart and Colbert on the DVR. By the time they were over, it was close to five, so I went back to bed and slept till nearly nine.

I don't like sleeping that late. It makes me grumpy and groggy. I spend the rest of the day feeling like I'm behind the eight-ball.

And then there's that nagging voice at the back of my mind, scolding me for stalling on my next writing project. I'll admit it - I'm a lazy writer. I'll put off doing it until the last possible minute. And I'm a pantser, so jotting down notes or trying to outline doesn't work for me. Every time I try, it robs the story of its magic, and I lose interest. But I've got an idea percolating right now. Hopefully by the time the holidays wind to a close, I'll be ready to apply butt to chair and fingers to keyboard and get going on it.

I wish I had an exercise bike. I hate going to the gym - I always seem like the only one huffing and puffing.

I have a huge procrastination problem too, and that's becoming a huge problem right around now.

Good luck on your writing!

Yes, I tend to put off beginning my writing day too. In my defense, this bitter cold weather makes me want to stay under the covers in the morning.

I'm another one who'd never exercise at all if I had to go to the gym. :P Just getting out the door is a huge hurdle for me.
